PM Awas Yojana 2.0 Urban: Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the 2.0 version of PM aawas Yojana urban. During har budget speech on 23 July 2024, she said, 3 crore additional houses under the PM Awas Yojana in rural and urban areas in the country have been announced, for which the necessary allocations are being made.
Under the PM Awas Yojana Urban 2.0, she said, housing needs of 1 crore poor and middle class families will be addressed with an investment of Rs 10 Lakh crore. Adding she said, this will include the central assistance of Rs 2.2 lakh crore in the next 5 years. A provision of interest subsidy to facilitate loans at affordable rates is also envisaged.

- Economically weaker section (EWS) families earning up to Rs 3,00,000 per annum.
- Medal income group-1(MIG-1) families earning between Rs 6,00,001 and Rs 12,00,000.
- Low income group (LIG) families earning between Rs 3,00,001 and Rs 6,00,000
- Middle income group (MIG -2) families earning between Rs 12,00,001 and Rs 18,00,000.
- The applicant and any member of his family should not on a permanent house anywhere else in the country.
- The family should consist of a husband and wife as well as unmarried children.
- The plant should include coverage for the families palace of residence or city.
- The family cannot be getting benefits from any housing related scheme already in force.
